Welcome to M.A.P.P.

On behalf of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and the University of South Carolina, It is with great excitement that we welcome you to The Multicultural Assistance Peer Program! The Multicultural Assistance Peer Program (M.A.P.P.) is a program designed to assist first year multicultural students in their transition to the University of South Carolina.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Multicultural Assistance Peer Program (M.A.P.P.) is developed out of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) and is designed to assist first year multicultural students  in their transition to the University of South Carolina by providing them with a trained mentor for their critical first year. The program works diligently to establish positive networks for the student’s matriculation—academically, socially, and culturally.

M.A.P.P. has been impacting the lives of students for over 20 years and has continued to yield retention and climate satisfaction. As you venture through our site be sure to visit the photos page to see some great shots taken by our students who enjoy both the academic and social meetings held during the course of the program.

The Multicultural Assistance Peer Program and The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of South Carolina is designed and dedicated to educating and celebrating the cultural diversity of all students, staff, and community members by offering support programs and activities to all students. You are invited to participate in all programs and resources offered through M.A.P.P. as well as the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.
